Appalshop is a fantastic multi-disciplinary arts and education center in the heart of Appalachia producing original films, video, theater, music and spoken-word recordings, radio, photography, multimedia, and books about Appalachia. Environmental Groups Coal River Mountain Watch a group that deals with environmental and social concerns Heartwood, a group dedicated to the preservation of Appalachian heartwood trees. Kentuckians for the Commonwealth Mountain Justice Summer, a group working to stop mountain top removal. Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition Upper Guyandotte Watershed Association - they have received a grant to install a sewer system in the Amigo area where a great deal of Coal Hollow was made.
